Instructions & Performance

The RXCoolers Mini Carrying Case for Insulin & Medications innovates with its dual cooling mechanisms—perfect for versatile, on-the-go temperature control of medications, whether you’re commuting, spending a sunny day outdoor, or traveling.

Whether using USB power or the eco-friendly Biogel cooling pack, here's how to utilize each cooling method optimally:

Using the Your Carrying Case Cooler with Biogel Cool Pack (No Power).

Ideal for travel where power is unavailable, the RxCoolers Mini serves as an effective cooling case using only the Biogel pack, which is suitable for air travel and remote adventures alike.

  • Biogel Preparation: Shake the Biogel pack well, about four or five times for even distribution.
  • Freeze: Place the Biogel in your freezer for 6-8 hours prior to use. Leaving it longer poses no risk.
  • Preparation for Use: Before inserting the Biogel into the cooler, either submerge it briefly in lukewarm tap water for 120-180 seconds or leave it out at room temperature for 10-15 minutes. This step ensures the removal of any frost, safeguarding your medications against freezing.
  • Packing: Dry the Biogel cooling pack, load your medications in your carrying case cooler, and secure the regular lid (no USB) for reliable cooling during your travels.

Cooling Performance in Biogel Mode

  • Mild Conditions (86°F/30°C): Keeps insulin and medications refrigerated between 36-46°F (2-8°C) for up to 30 hours, and cool below 79°F (26°C) for up to 48 hours.
  • Hot Conditions (95°F/35°C): Keeps insulin and medications refrigerated between 36-46°F (2-8°C) for up to 28 hours, and cool below 79°F (26°C) for up to 46 hours.
  • Extreme Heat (104°F/40°C): Keeps insulin and medications refrigerated between 36-46°F (2-8°C) for up to 26 hours, and cool below 79°F (26°C) for up to 44 hours.

Using the Your Carrying Case Cooler with USB Power

When power is accessible, the USB lid offers sustained refrigeration, keeping medications refrigerated consistently. The RXCoolers Mini can be plugged into any USB power source, including:

  • Power Bank
  • Portable Solar Panel
  • Car Cigarette Lighter Adapter
  • Household Power Outlet

Here’s how to use it on USB cooling mode:

  1. Load Your Medications: Place your insulin pens, vials, syringes, or other medications inside the USB-lid tube as shown in the pictures.
  2. Seal and Plug In: Close your mini travel fridge and plug it into a USB power source. That's it!

Cooling Performance in USB Mode

  • Mild Conditions (86°F/30°C): Keeps insulin and medications refrigerated between 36-46°F (2-8°C) as long as it is powered by electricity.
  • Hot Conditions (95°F/35°C): Keeps insulin and medications refrigerated between 36-46°F (2-8°C) as long as it is powered by electricity.
  • Extreme Heat (104°F/40°C): Keeps insulin and medications cool between 46-79°F (8-26°C) as long as it is powered by electricity (not refrigerated).

Maintenance & Cleaning Instructions

  • Keep USB-Lid Upright: Ensure the RXCoolers Mini Insulin Carrying Case is not inverted to prevent operational issues.
  • Unblock Heat Dissipation Holes: Regularly check to ensure nothing is blocking the holes to maintain optimal cooling.
  • Regular Dusting: Use an air compressor or a hairdryer on the cool setting to clear dust from the USB-Lid every few weeks.
  • Rest the Device: Unplug the USB-Cooling Lid for 15-20 minutes after every 4 days of continuous use to extend its lifespan.
  • Gentle Cleaning: Use a damp cloth for cleaning the stainless steel parts and a soft cloth for the Biogel Cooling Pack and aluminum parts of the USB-Lid.

  • Avoid Water: Do not clean the medical cooler’s exterior with water to protect its electronic components.
  • Avoid Abrasive Materials: Do not use harsh cleaners or abrasive cloths on the cooling case to avoid scratches and damage.
  • Avoid Continuous Operation Without Breaks: Do not operate the cooler continuously without giving it periodic rests to avoid overheating.

Additional Tips:

  • If oxidation marks appear on the aluminum parts, gently clean them with a suitable aluminum cleaner. Remember, oxidation is a normal phenomenon due to the material's properties.

These simplified instructions will help ensure your RXCoolers Mini remains in optimal condition for reliable and long-lasting use over the years!
